The New York Giants parted ways with a franchise icon Tuesday by releasing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Although Beckham didn’t play a big role in the offense through three games, Giants fans were probably sad to see him go. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux was certainly disappointed to learn of his release.
“I wish him the best. He’s a legend in this sport and he fought so hard to get back into this league,” Thibodeaux told reporters. “He’ll definitely be able to make a statement somewhere so I’m not worried about him.”
Tuesday’s decision was reportedly mutual as Beckham looks to find a team where he can make more of an impact. Still, Beckham’s brief return to New York was heartbreaking for some.
