Why Taylor Swift Thought Jason Kelce’s Morning Proposal to Travis Was ‘Damn’
Taylor Swift thought it was “fucked up” that Jason Kelce called Travis Kelce early in the morning to ask him to help her practice.
On Wednesday’s episode of their podcast “New Heights,” the brothers explained how Swift, 36, got upset when Jason needed the Kansas City Chiefs player’s help to compete in a challenge called “Squatober.”
“I get a call at 7:30 in the morning. In my head, I’m thinking worst case scenario,” Travis, 37, said. “I’m like, ‘Oh, shit. Is everything okay? Maybe after the race, Jason is in the hospital, he blew out his knee or something.'”
But all Jason, 38, needed was for Travis to spot him.
“I was like, ‘No way!’” Travis recalled, as the brothers laughed.
Travis said he decided to help his brother – much to Swift’s dismay.
“I walk out of the room and Taylor says, ‘It’s fucked,'” he said. “And I’m just like, ‘No, it’ll be good. It’ll be good!'”
Earlier in the conversation, Jason explained that before flying out to visit the newly married couple, he called Travis and asked him how much weight he had in his basement for the daily squat challenge.
“I just told him how much weight I had. And he was like, ‘Oh, okay, cool, I’ll bring some,'” Travis said, as Jason confirmed that he traveled to Kansas City, Mo., with two 25-pound weights, along with “a few extra plates to throw on the old squat bar.”
“Absolutely hilarious, the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever seen Jason do,” Travis said with a laugh.
After the practice chat, Jason confirmed that he and Swift were at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on Travis during the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
“We were all there at Arrowhead this weekend,” the former Philadelphia Eagles player said. “It was great.”
During the match, Swift was seen gesturing to a fan directly below her to stop recording her from her VIP suite and watch the action on the court.
A member of her security team then appeared to ask the fan to put her phone away.
Good news for Travis and Taylor, the Chiefs beat the Chargers 22-6.
