Windows 11 26H2 Update has known issues. You might want to wait
- USB audio devices may not start or produce any soundwhich means some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices show code 10 or fail in multi-channel audio modes after installing the September 2026 update.
- Domain-joined devices may lose their secure trust relationship with the domainwhich means that some accounts protected by Credential Guard might not be able to log in with valid domain credentials.
- Devices may experience a black screen or desktop loading issues after signing inwhich may occur in some virtual desktop environments.
To be clear, these issues are not caused by Windows 11 26H2. In fact, Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2 also have these same issues on their respective Windows Release Health pages. However, your PC may not experience these issues. NOW but start experimenting with them once you upgrade to Windows 11 26H2. In the meantime, if you’re already experiencing it, you’ll probably continue to experience it after the update.
Although Microsoft has described these issues as “mitigated”, the reality is that they persist and Microsoft is still investigating solutions.
What should you do?
If you haven’t noticed the above issues yet and definitely don’t want them to occur on your PC, you should wait until Microsoft reports that these issues have been fixed before installing Windows 11 26H2. (This is our recommendation, not Microsoft’s.) It’s unclear how long it will be before these patches are released – Microsoft hasn’t provided details.
