Woman stabbed in the neck while jogging in Brooklyn is in critical condition, NYPD say
A woman who was out jogging Friday evening is in critical condition, police said, after being stabbed in the neck and left on a waterfront path in Brooklyn’s Bath Beach neighborhood.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officials said they received a call about a person stabbed on a bike path near Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue in Bath Beach.
Police found the 28-year-old woman with a neck injury and transported her to NYU Langone, where she was listed in critical condition Saturday morning.
NYPD officials say the attack happened in an area of the path where there were no cameras. They said the department assigned a number of specialized units Friday and Saturday to help investigate, including additional detectives and aviation, K-9 and scuba diving teams.
No arrests have been made and authorities have not been able to provide a description of a suspect.
