WWE money in the bank
New Orleans, Louisiana at the Smoothie King Center
Broadcast live September 10, 2026 on ESPN Unlimited (and Netflix internationally)

Alix Paige entered the ring while performing the national anthem at the end of the pre-show… Michael Cole recorded the commentary and narrated behind-the-scenes and arrival photos of Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, Oba Femi, Bronson Reed, Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend, Tiffany Stratton, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca, Kevin Owens and CM Punk… A Money Narrated by Paul Levesque in the Bank video broadcast…

LA Knight made his entrance while Corey Graves checked Michael Cole’s comments. There was a long pause as several shots showed the crowd live, then Roman Reigns made his entrance…

Powell’s view: The crowd is large and noisy. WrestleTix reported that the venue was set up for 13,263 people, with 12,935 tickets distributed. The total number of seats on the card is 17,197. The last time WWE managed the venue, 9,837 tickets were given out for the February 21, 2025 SmackDown.

1. Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship. Ring announcer Byron Saxton made the in-ring introductions for the championship match. Eddie Orengo was the referee. The story going into the match was that Knight had a head start on Reigns and was frustrating the champion.

Reigns returned briefly, but Knight dodged a Superman Punch. Knight worked over Reigns with punches, then performed an inverted atomic drop. Knight double-teamed Reigns and followed up with a neckbreaker. Knight threw Reigns over the top rope then followed him to the floor.

Knight sent Reigns into the ring post and cleared the broadcast table. Reigns got up and punched Knight before slamming him into the post. Back in the ring, Reigns worked over Knight while some fans briefly chanted “OTC.” Knight had a small cut on his forehead. Knight regained control, dropped an elbow on Reigns and covered him for a two count.

Reigns caught a charging Knight with a Superman Punch, then covered him for a two count. Reigns complained about the referee’s count. Reigns went for a spear which Knight avoided, causing Reigns to be crushed in the corner of the ring. Knight put Reigns on the ropes and went for a superplex which Reigns stuffed with punches to the gut. Reigns knocked Knight off the ropes with a headbutt.

Knight jumped on the ropes and superplexed Reigns. Knight hoisted Reigns up and performed a Burning Hammer for a near fall. Knight went for a BFT, but Reigns kicked him away. Knight came back immediately with a reverse DDT. Knight walked to the middle rope, performed to the crowd, then jumped up top. Knight jumped, but he must have rolled because Reigns was back on his feet. Reigns took Knight down with a uranage slam for a near fall. A chant of “this is awesome” broke out.

Reigns bit Knight before throwing him to the ground. Reigns followed him and prepared to deliver a powerbomb near the table, but Knight moved away and ran him towards the ring steps. Reigns made a move then exchanged punches with Knight. Both wrestlers rushed to the ring to beat the referee’s count.

Pie-faced Reigns Knight as both men were on their knees. Knight returned the favor. Reigns dropped Knight with a Superman Punch. Reigns walked to the corner of the ring and let out a battle cry. Reigns charged at Knight, who took him down with a BFT and covered him for a near fall. Graves said no one had been kicked out of the BFT before.

Knight walked to a corner of the ring and let out his own mocking battle cry. Knight charged at Reigns, who took him down with a spear before covering him for a near fall. Reigns showed his frustration. Reigns threw punches at Knight while calling out the members of the bloodline each punch was dedicated to. Reigns ran the ropes, but Knight cut him off with a spear and covered him for a near fall.

Reigns fell to the floor as another “this is awesome” chant broke out. In the ring, Knight got the fans to say his name. Knight left the ring and ran towards Reigns, who cut him with a spear. Reigns let out the battle cry before charging at Knight, who circled around him and pushed him through the barricade and into the timekeeper’s area.

Knight struggled to power Reigns up. Knight tried and then powerbombed Reigns through the broadcast table. Knight threw Reigns back inside the ring. Knight hit a top rope elbow on Reigns for a near fall. Knight went for a BFT, but Reigns blocked it. Reigns picked Knight up and put him on the top rope. Reigns hit Knight with two Superman Punches, then speared Knight before pinning him.

Roman Reigns defeated LA Knight in 26:50 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Then, “The 946” Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price appeared in the crowd, which caught Reigns’ attention. Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso appeared behind them. The teams quickly returned fire into a concourse area where no fans were present.

The six wrestlers made their way down to the main floor, continued down another hall, and finally passed through the front doors. They continued to fight outside the venue until Jaida Parker appeared in a black SUV. Keys, Nima and Price got into the SUV, then Parker left…

Powell’s view: A very good match. They did a great job building suspense with some excellent assists. The key is that Knight looked so competitive with Reigns that he would gain something in defeat if they presented him properly on television. The post-match brawl was solid and served as a nice teaser for Monday’s 946 vs. Solo match and the Usos match on Raw…

After several commercials aired, Trick Williams and Lil Yachty were shown backstage. Bron Breakker was shown warming up in another part of the backstage area, then Bronson Reed joined him…

Guitarist Nita Strauss, drummer Josh Villalta and their son Max Villalta were present in the crowd. Josh is originally from New Orleans…

Entries for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match took place…

Powell’s view: The women’s MITB ranking match now opens the door for the winner to try to cash in in the women’s world championship match.

2. Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Lash Legend vs. Tiffany Stratton in a Money in the Bank ladder match. Ladders have been set up around the ring. Cole noted that every women’s MITB winner has gone on to win a championship. Jayne built a ladder bridge by draping a ladder over the apron and broadcast table.

The wrestlers all fought at ringside. Stratton climbed to the top of a large ladder and performed a moonsault on his opponents, but his head hit the back of the padded floor. Stratton immediately grabbed the back of his head. Graves attributed this to losing her footing at the last moment. The coaches checked her out.

Jayne set up a ladder in the ring. Stratton returned to the ring and tried to stop him, but Jayne used her legs to pull Stratton’s head into the ladder. Vice entered the ring and cut off Jayne. Vice threw kicks at Ruca and eventually knocked down three opponents in different corners. Vice hit them all with hip attacks.

Shortly after, Perez had two opponents lying atop a leaning ladder on the bottom rope. Perez performed a moonsault on both wrestlers. Perez set up a ladder under the briefcase that hung above the ring. Perez moved up the ranks, but Stratton returned to drag him into an Alabama Slam.

Stratton climbed the ladder, but Ruca fought his way to the other side. Stratton and Ruca fought near the top of the ladder. Jayne returned to the ring and pushed the ladder. Ruca held on to the briefcase as Stratton fell near the ropes and landed on her feet. A few opponents gathered under Ruca, who dropped the briefcase and landed on top of them. A brief chant of “this is awesome” broke out.

Moments later, Legend threw a few opponents onto a ladder that went over the middle rope and the main ladder. Legend made a play for the briefcase, but Ruca interrupted her. Vice superkicked Legend, who fell onto the ladder bridged above the apron and broadcast table. Ruca went to the top and performed a frog splash on Legend, who broke the ladder.

Jayne made a play for the briefcase, but Vice climbed behind her and applied a submission hold. They both fell backwards onto another ladder that went over the main ladder and the middle rope. Perez entered the ring alone and there were some cheers, but Stratton joined him and they traded strikes.

Perez belittled Stratton with Pop Rox. Perez quickly moved up the ladder, but Ruca stopped her and threw her back into the ring. Ruca performed a Sol Snatcher on Perez from the ladder. The legend belittled Ruca. Legend climbed up the ladder, but Stratton climbed up the other side and exchanged punches with Legend. Stratton hit Legend with the briefcase to knock her off the ladder. Stratton lowered the briefcase to win the match…

Tiffany Stratton defeated Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez and Lash Legend in 15:20 to win the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Powell’s view: I guess we’ll never know for sure if Stratton would have pulled out of the match after that hard landing if she hadn’t been booked to win. I was surprised they didn’t pull her because her head hit so hard, but she seemed fine as the match went on. Stratton was not the most popular choice to win in the building. Even though fans cheered Perez rather than Stratton when they traded strikes at one point, they were respectful during Stratton’s postgame celebration. The wrestlers worked hard and there were some big bumps, so hopefully they all come out of this with nothing more serious than a few bumps and bruises.

Oba Femi was shown walking backstage while Cole…
