Zelda: Ocarina of Time: graphics and framerate comparison “docked vs. handheld”
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrives on Switch 2 on November 5, 2026, in just a few hours. Some regions already have access to the title, and this gave us the opportunity to get a very good look at the game. In the video above you can see a comparison with how this Switch 2 remake looks in docked and handheld mode. You can also find a video below that shows more gameplay for each playstyle.
Here’s what else you can expect from Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Switch 2:
Improved Performance and Presentation: The visuals have been completely overhauled down to the textures of each material, actions are more vivid and satisfying, loading times are faster, the game runs much smoother, sounds have been refreshed, and the game includes symphonic orchestral music.
More Movement and Control: Jump and run freely with newly added button controls and enjoy improved camera control with the right stick.
A more immersive Hyrule: The characters Link encounters are fully voiced during extended cutscenes and have much more to say. Freely move the camera in completely renovated locations for a more dynamic experience with various new details. The day/night cycle now continues wherever you are, even in the city.
Sons of Time: At any point during the adventure, see the progress you have made in the story and check your next objective. A large tapestry will also gradually fill in as you travel.
Play Ocarina Tunes: Hum a song Link has learned and he will play it on his ocarina! The game will also respond to instruments like the new playable and electric ocarinas arriving later this year.
