Zoe Saldaña’s grueling commitment to “Lioness” has her wondering if she wants to be part of another Taylor Sheridan show.
“I think Joe McNamara and ‘Lioness’ are all I can handle right now,” she said in a new interview with People, referring to the CIA agent she plays on the hit Paramount+ spy series.
“I can’t imagine facing a world closer to that of Taylor Sheridan,” the actress added.
Saldaña, 48, stressed that starring in and serving as an executive producer on “Lioness” is a major responsibility.
“I’m #1 on the call list. I’m first in, last out,” she shared. “I prepare months before anyone else can. So it’s already a lot of work for me.”
However, Saldaña said she is “grateful” to work with Sheridan, 56, because the TV producer knows she is “honest,” “tough as nails,” “vocal and opinionated.”
“I have my point of view and I come with all my heart, all my brain, all my brawn at all times,” she said, adding: “So, no, I think I’m good here at ‘Lioness.’
Saldaña stars in “Lioness” alongside Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Laysla De Oliveira, Jill Wagner and Dave Annable.
After the series’ Season 3 finale revealed that Aaliyah Amrohi (Stephanie Nur) was the mastermind behind Joe’s kidnapping, Saldaña admitted that she didn’t know if there was more story to tell.
“I don’t know if we’re capable of having a season 4,” the Oscar winner told People. “I don’t know where he would take her.”
Saldaña previously told Entertainment Weekly that her work on “Lioness” Season 3 was taking up a lot of her time.
“It was very demanding, I’m not going to lie,” she said. “And I didn’t even know if I was going to make it.”
However, Saldaña said that after having “various conversations” with Sheridan about her character’s storyline, she was “very happy and proud of the direction (Sheridan) ultimately took.”
Meanwhile, Wagner, who plays Bobby, the leader of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), revealed earlier this month that Sheridan forced her to relearn a scene with her non-dominant hand, just minutes before filming.
“He makes you run to the fire,” she told People of the “Yellowstone” creator.
De Oliveira, who plays Agent Cruz Manuelos, told the outlet that Sheridan “can change things on the spot” during filming.
“You have to have your head turned and be able to do it,” she said, before clarifying that Sheridan doesn’t change scripts at the last minute.
“Lioness” is streaming on Paramount+.
