10-man Spurs get a draw but who got 1/10 – Ratings for Man Utd vs Spurs
Manchester United XI:
Senne Lammens: He made a major early error that could have had disastrous consequences, but the Belgian recovered to make Dominic Solanke’s save. Soon after, poor control showed further signs of nerves and a pass straight out of play summed up United’s first half hour. I might have done better with the equalization. 5
Leny Yoro (outside 59, Dalot): Given a start after making his France debut and an excellent tackle to deny Jan Paul van Hecke a clear view of goal. Decent effort. 7
Harry Maguire: A usual solid presence at the heart of the home defense but no chance to threaten at the other end and the fact he attempted a shot from 30 yards suggested a lack. 7
Lisandro Martinez: The partnership with Maguire was a positive for Man Utd but was completely outplayed by Solanke for Spurs’ equalizer. 6
Luke Shaw: One of the home side’s most consistent players stepped forward to force a corner early in the second half and made a vital intervention at the other end. Lucky to have avoided a red card for his reactionary stampede on Rodrigo Bentancur? 6
Kobbie Mainoo: Caught in possession too many times, even if the passes he received in his own half were ill-advised. I tried to take the ball in a deep midfield role. Excellent block to refuse Savio. 7
Youri Tielemans (outside 59, Baleba): Lucky to escape being robbed by Savio deep in United’s half due to a questionable free-kick, but calm as he played the ball back to Lammens to relieve the pressure on the home goal. 6
Amad Diallo (on 59, Zirkzee): It took a long time to get into the game in his first appearance of the season, but he finally made the home team’s first shot. 6
Bruno Fernandès: The shadow of the player who deservedly won all the player of the year awards last season. I didn’t shoot when I had the chance, which suggests confidence levels have dropped. 5
Mathéus Cunha: The reaction to the negativity from the stands shows that he cares but, like many, is yet to reach the levels of last season. Provided the assist for Mbuemo’s goal. 6
Bryan Mbeumo: Didn’t have enough support to be effective in the main striker role, but led a counter and turned smartly to score United’s goal. 8.
Submarines:
Diogo Dalot (59, Yoro): Almost set up Bruno Fernandes with a cross from the right. 5
Carlos Baleba (at 59, Tielemans): The introduction brought life to the home fans and produced numerous tackles. 5
Joshua Zirkzee (59, Amad): Quickly into action to force a corner and let Tottenham know he was there. 6
Ayden Heaven (out of 90, Shaw). 5
Marcus Rashford (on 90, Cunha). 5
Unused substitutes: Karl Darlow, Mason Mount, Andrey Santos, Shea Lacey.
