AUSTIN, Texas — Southbound I-35 is closed in downtown Austin after an 18-wheeler struck a bridge, according to the Austin Police Department.
All southbound lanes are closed at 11th and 12th streets, with traffic moving only on the right-most shoulder, police said.
At 1:16 p.m., APD said the road would not reopen for a few hours in order to clean up significant debris.

Drivers should expect delays and plan alternative routes.
