Subaru of America is adding anniversary editions of the 2027 Subaru WRX and BRZ, and some subtle performance upgrades are on the menu.
The 2027 Subaru WRX GD25 and 2027 Subaru BRZ ZC15, revealed Monday at Boxerfest 2026 in York, Pennsylvania, honor their respective models’ chassis codes when they arrived in the United States 25 and 15 years ago. Availability will be limited to 350 WRX GD25 units and 300 BRZ ZC15 units. Shiny wheels connect the limited edition models, but each offers its own flavor of enhanced performance.
The WRX GD25 is offered exclusively in World Rally Blue and rides on 19-inch gold-painted alloy wheels. Subaru equipped the all-wheel-drive sports sedan with upgraded Brembo brakes, gold-painted calipers, and Bridgestone Potenza S007 high-performance tires. A flexible support bar and stiffer springs complete the mechanical improvements. Most importantly to us, though, Subaru installed an STI-style dry carbon fiber gooseneck rear wing, a component taken directly from Travis Pastrana’s WRX ARA25L rally car. Inside, Subaru has fitted the Recaro seats with black Ultrasuede inserts with red stitching and an STI shift knob as well as a short shifter. All GD25 units come with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 2027 BRZ ZC15 is painted in Gloss Ceramic White, a color exclusive to the ZC15, and rides on matte bronze wheels. The BRZ Special Edition features red-painted Brembo calipers, unique bronze decals, and a black decklid spoiler. Black leather upholstery and burgundy red inserts complete the special edition touches.
“Our WRX and BRZ Anniversary Edition models commemorate the iconic performance heritage and successes of both vehicles in the United States,” said William Stokes, director of car line planning for Subaru of America. “The WRX GD25 is a tribute to our rally-ready sedan and its sports car pedigree, including the wing it shares with the ARA championship-winning ARA25L. Likewise, the BRZ ZC15 embodies the best of our long-standing performance and accessible sports car, right down to its rear-wheel-drive commitment.”
Subaru expects the WRX GD25 to arrive by summer 2027, while the BRZ ZC15 will be available early next year. Pricing details and additional performance specifications will be available closer to market launch.
