Sony Pictures is hoping to find a treasure trove by announcing a series of release dates for new films.
Ridley Scott Treasure Island will hit theaters on November 11, 2027, starring Hugh Jackman as pirate Long John Silver in the feature film adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel. With a screenplay by Jack Thorne, the film also stars Owen Cooper and Hugh Grant in the story of a young boy who finds a map to buried treasure.
One month later, continuation of the comedy 24, rue Jump will be released in theaters on December 10, 2027, with the return of stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the original 2012 film 21 rue du saut and its 2014 sequel, will produce the third installment in the franchise that had Rodney Rothman directing a screenplay he wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy.
Other projects planned in the studio’s theatrical schedule include a video game adaptation. Helldiverse moving to June 9, 2028, after previously being dated November 10, 2027. The film from director Justin Lin of Sony and PlayStation Productions will star Alan Ritchson following the departure of Jason Momoa. It focuses on an elite unit of soldiers who battle alien creatures.

Director Roshan Sethi The surgeon is set to hit theaters on April 2, 2027. Michelle Yeoh, Martin Freeman, Laurie Davidson, Yuri Kolokolnikov and Joseph Mydell lead the title hailing from Thunder Road and Tango. After premiering at TIFF, The surgeon stars Yeoh as a skilled surgeon who is pressured to operate on a mysterious patient.
Plus, John Phillips is set to make his directorial debut with the comedy Drug traffickersdated August 20, 2027. Mason Thames and Ella Bright star in the film, scripted by Jordan Shipley and Justin Shipley, with a rewrite by Phillips and Gene Stupnitsky.
Bringing up its release date by a month is Grand Gearshifting to January 14, 2028, after having initially been set for February 18, 2028. Godzilla minus one Director Takashi Yamazaki marks his English-language directorial debut with the feature film originally from Bad Robot and counts JJ Abrams and Glen Zipper as producers.
