The Steam Fall Sale is here with plenty of great deals and discounts, and there are plenty of must-have Steam games you can buy for under $3.

As much as we love regular Steam sales, it’s fair to say our bank balance doesn’t love them as much. We all know that buying video games is not a cheap hobby, and it can get very expensive, very quickly, especially if we want to keep up with all the latest releases.

However, if we are a little patient, we can save a huge amount of money on so many video games that we have our eye on. And let’s face it, how many times have we bought a AAA game at full price at launch, only to have it sit dormant in our pile of shame for weeks or even months? We’ve all done it.

Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of five must-have Steam games that will only cost you $3/£3 or less during the fall sales.

Five must-have Steam games for under $3

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – $0.99/£0.89, instead of $19.99/£17.99

It’s been 10 years since the sequel to the original 2008 game was released. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst sees the return of intrepid parkour and combat expert Faith Connors. If you like fast-paced action and great visuals that still hold up today, then you really can’t miss this great deal.

Steep – $1.49/£1.29, down from $29.99/£25.99

If you like extreme sports but don’t want to run the risk of dying in real life, then the program from Ubisoft Steep is for you. Ski, snowboard, wingsuit or paraglide through the Alps in this open-world game without having to fear death. Happy days!

Death’s door – $1.99/£1.67, instead of $19.99/£16.75

Speaking of fear of death, when Death’s door was first released in 2021, it was considered one of the best indie games of its time, and that remains true today. It’s a brilliant action-adventure RPG with plenty of hilarious dark humor to boot.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus – $1.49/£1.24, instead of $29.99/£24.99

This is a challenging but fun turn-based strategy game, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of the Warhammer tabletop game or not. Build your squads, explore ancient ruins and eliminate your enemies. What’s not to like?

Ori and the Will of the Wisps – $2.99/£2.49, down from $29.99/£24.99

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is one of the most stunning games you’ll ever play, and not just visually. This game will turn you into an emotional wreck and have you bawling your eyes out in no time. If you’ve never played it, it’s one of the best action platformers you’ll ever play, and if you’ve never played the original, both games are currently on sale in a bundle.
