Alabama announced Tuesday afternoon that Kirkpatrick had been fired after being charged with two misdemeanors for doxing and harassing communications. According to a complaint filed in Tuscaloosa County District Court, the officer said he received a “profane” message on Facebook from Kirkpatrick last week.

In a statement, Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said Kirkpatrick “failed to meet the standards and expectations I have set for this team and our players.”

From WBRC:

“(The officer) stated he was immediately alarmed by the message due to prior involvements with Kirkpatrick in November 2025, during which (the officer) conducted a traffic stop and Kirkpatrick eluded (the officer) and other officers at the scene,” according to a deposition.

The officer told police that when he went to Kirkpatrick’s profile to block him, he saw a photo of himself, his wife and their two children with the caption “Tell him?” »

The officer said the post raised “grave concerns for the safety and general well-being of himself and his family” given Kirkpatrick’s “significant following and public following” as an Alabama football player.

Kirkpatrick was suspended for the remainder of the season in November 2025 after being arrested on three counts of reckless endangerment and attempting to elude and speeding. He has nine tackles in eight games in 2025.

Prior to the A&M game, Kirkpatrick had appeared in all seven of Alabama’s games and committed a forced fumble.

Kirkpatrick is the son of former Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick. After three seasons with the Crimson Tide from 2009 to 2011, the elder Kirkpatrick was a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played eight seasons with the Bengals before one season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 then a final season with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021.
