Appeals court appears likely to let Boasberg contempt investigation continue
A federal appeals court appears likely to authorize a contempt investigation, which could include criminal charges, against Asset administration officials.
All but one of the active judges on the Washington Circuit Court of Appeals were on hand Tuesday for a nearly three-hour discussion of the Justice Department’s attempt to end contempt proceedings initiated last year by a U.S. district judge. James Boasberg. He launched the investigation after the administration expelled hundreds of Venezuelans to El Salvador despite an order from Boasberg this seemed to require many men to be detained by the United States.
