
Apple invites developers to submit iPhone Duo compatible apps to the App Store

With the iPhone Duo launch fast approaching, Apple is now accepting submissions for iPhone Duo-optimized apps and games created with Xcode 27.1. Here are the details.
App Store Connect will require iPhone Duo screenshots starting April 2027
Over the past few weeks, Apple released the Xcode 27.1 beta with support for creating and testing apps and games for the iPhone Duo. Today, the company released Xcode 27.1 Release Candidate 1, which developers can download here.
Earlier this evening, in a post on its Developer News Hub, Apple announced that developers can now submit apps and games optimized for iPhone Duo in App Store Connect:
When you build or recompile using Xcode 27.1, your App Store product page will display a badge to let people know that your app is optimized for iPhone Duo.
Importantly, the company added that any apps or games submitted to App Store Connect will need to include screenshots for iPhone Duo starting April 2027.
In the same news article, Apple highlighted that recompiling existing apps with Xcode 27.1 adds development support for the iPhone Duo and that developers can use Device Hub to visualize how their apps behave on the new device in all poses and orientations.

The iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order starting Friday, October 16, with shipping and in-store availability starting October 23.
