Apple Store plans reveal when iPad mini OLED will likely go on sale
Most recent The iPad mini with OLED display will likely go on sale on Friday, November 6, about a week after Apple’s. launch at the end of October. This will finally allow the iPad mini to live up to Samsung’s smaller current Tab S12+, which already has an OLED screen.
Apple Stores are preparing for November 6
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the outlet’s chief Apple correspondent, said in his In the latest Power On newsletter, an Apple Store reset is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, November 5 through Friday, November 6. The reset means new signage will be installed and new products will be placed on store tables. This date follows the pattern where Apple typically releases products about a week after they are announced.
Gurman says at least some of the products below are expected to go on sale on November 6:
This timing follows an influencer dinner planned for Tuesday, October 27, as well as an all-day event planned for Wednesday, October 28. This is when Apple is expected to unveil the above products.
The price of waiting for the iPad mini OLED
Apple’s track record lends credibility to this timeline. The current iPad mini was announced on October 15, 2024, and it went on sale on October 23, 2024 for $499. That’s exactly eight days later, which is roughly the week-long gap Gurman currently expects.

The iPad mini OLED, however, is expected to launch at a higher price. The current The iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip now sells for $599, but Gurman expects the OLED one to see a significant price increase, estimating a price closer to $799.
In comparison, that of Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series went on sale on October 7 with two different models both sporting an AMOLED display at $1,199.99 for the Tab S12+ and $1,399.99 for the Tab S12 Ultra. Although Samsung doesn’t have a small OLED flagship tablet, even at around $799, the iPad mini would still be the cheapest and smallest OLED choice. For However, for Android tablet owners, nothing changes as this mainly applies to Apple users and fans of small tablets.
If you’re in the market for an iPad mini, don’t jump in yet
If you’ve been on the fence about buying an iPad mini, November 6 is now your day to watch. Pulling the trigger and buying the current $599 model means you’ll miss out on an OLED display in just a few weeks. However, it must be said that Apple hasn’t officially announced anything yet, so the November 6 date is just Gurman’s read on the situation. Additionally, among the above devices that might launch on that day, not all devices will be available on the same day.
Is an OLED iPad mini worth the wait?
A gap of about a week is normal for Apple, so Gurman’s timing seems credible to me. The real question is whether you think it’s worth paying $200 more to get an OLED screen. I hope Apple keeps the price closer to $699 so it remains the affordable little iPad.
