Assassin’s Creed Exclusive Character Hexe, Story Details Leaked
With the release of the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake, Ubisoft is now considering a different type of Assassin’s Creed. For a while now, they’ve been working on Codename Hexe, a mainline entry that would have abandoned the massive RPG volume of the later games in favor of a more traditional linear experience.
Set in Germany during the dark witch trials of the 16th century, Hexe aims for a much darker tone. According to internal leaks, the story follows a protagonist accused of witchcraft, Anika Adler, as she tries to survive during the brutal persecutions of the time.
Building on these rumors, we recently discovered exclusive descriptions that flesh out the cast of characters we’ll meet in this new entry, including some additional story details.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe Character Roster Details
The following information comes from casting calls held from 2023 until recent months. As is the case for the first details of the project, these character names are most likely internal placeholders and should change in the final game. Even so, these descriptions reveal minor story spoilers, so continue reading with caution.
Starting with the protagonist, called in these castings “Petra”, she is described as a strong-willed and passionate woman in her twenties. Characterized as a dutiful daughter and radical thinker, she is portrayed as someone completely incapable of accepting the restrictive role that society has imposed on her.

His story is joined by two characters who appear to be his parents: “Brigitte” and “Konrad”. Brigitte is a deeply compassionate mother and midwife in her early 40s. She’s a particularly interesting character, as recent rumors suggest that she’s of major importance to the overall plot, especially regarding leaks that the protagonist is a direct descendant of the Auditore lineage.
Konrad fits his father’s profile. Described as an orthodox, religious and caring family man, he is burdened with a “dirty job”. This fits with other descriptions suggesting that the protagonist’s father acts as the “leader of Neustadt”.”, adding an interesting dark layer to their family dynamic.
The details also shed light on the supporting cast. “Bruno” is presented as a larger-than-life patriarchal leader with a crude sense of humor, while “Anton” is depicted as a shrewd and ambitious man who appears outwardly respectable but operates in the shadows. Separate leaks have mentioned a character named “Wolfgang” acting as the protagonist’s mentor, so it’s possible that Bruno or Anton fills this mentor role under a different alias.
The cast is rounded out by “Johanna,” a wealthy but morally bankrupt manipulator; “Theo”, a shy and sensitive young boy who serves as a beloved little brother; and “Erika”, an attractive, quick-witted but arrogant, status-obsessed young woman.

For the modern storyline, the profiles highlight a character named “Anna”. Described as a driven and impatient career woman, working full throttle in a competitive work environment, she specifically lacks the German origins of the rest of the cast. This makes it likely that Anna is our window into the Abstergo or Animus Hub portion of the narrative.
But the cast’s most intriguing story centers on an older figure known as “Mother Gertrud.” This character is a 65-year-old former village healer who was once trusted by her community until an illness she could not cure swept through the area, turning the village against her and leading to serious accusations of witchcraft. Although she was never officially convicted, she chose a life of isolation to survive.
Beyond Gertrud’s tragic past, her deep ties to Petra’s family are revealed. Gertrud initially taught Petra’s mother the herbs before she abandoned the path of the healer to marry.. Now, Gertrud offers sanctuary to Petra as she attempts to escape an antagonistic group called the “Order of the Lamb.” probably a front for the Templars.
The same description also names the city of Augsburg as Petra’s next dangerous destination.. Interestingly, this isn’t the only location linked to the project, as Rogue TX previously reported that Würzburg would feature in a future expansion pass.
As exciting as these details are, playing Hexe is still going to be a bit of a wait, and development hasn’t been without its hurdles. Earlier in April this year, reports indicated that the project took a hit when around 50 developers were removed from the team during an internal restructuring phase.
But even with the sudden loss of roster, fans shouldn’t panic just yet. Known insider NateTheHate has indicated that the title is still on track, although we shouldn’t expect it to launch until the second half of 2027 at the earliest.
