Bernie Sanders belatedly pushes for billionaire tax in California
SAN FRANCISCO — Bernie Sanders considers the proposed tax on California billionaires to be the most important ballot measure in America.

The initiative, a health care union’s attempt to offset federal cuts with a one-time 5 percent tax on California billionaires, has muddied the politics of this Democratic stronghold while reverberating far beyond the state.
