Blake Shelton ‘shocked’ by Miranda Lambert’s comments on messy 2015 divorce: ‘He feels bad’
Blake Shelton is “quite shocked” that his ex-wife Miranda Lambert speaks publicly about her divorce in 2015 after all this time, says source In touch.
“He really thought they would both put this chapter behind them,” the source said. “He’s not angry, he accepts that she has the right to talk about his life and, frankly, he feels bad.”
During a recent appearance on The Songwriter Ross Golanthe podcast, And the writer is…Lambert, 42, reflected on the end of her four-year marriage to Shelton, 50.
“I got divorced and it sucks for everyone, especially in the public eye, especially on tour, especially in the middle of a very public career, both of us, you know what I mean?” she said. “It definitely wasn’t a fun time.”
On July 21, 2015, just a day after the couple announced their separation, TMZ reported that Lambert had cheated on Shelton not once, but twice. The next day, sources close to the “Gunpowder & Lead” singer fired back at TMZ, claiming he was the one who lost his way.
Both artists deny the rumors.
“Their divorce was pretty ugly and there was a lot of bitterness,” the source admits. “But for Blake, that’s all in the past.”
Since they separated, Lambert has married a former New York police officer Brendan McCoughlin in 2019 while Shelton got married to Gwen Stefani in 2021.
“He doesn’t hold any bitterness toward Miranda,” the source reveals. “On the contrary, he finds it sad that things ended on such bad terms, especially because they spent so many wonderful years together.”
The “God’s Country” singer even wishes they could be friends like some exes are, like Chris Martin And Gwyneth Paltrow“, the source adds. “Of course, even if Miranda was open to this, it’s hard to imagine her husband, or Gwen for that matter, being OK with it.”
