Bob Chesney offers to help Dante Moore after he suffers a concussion
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning said on the Jim Rome show that UCLA head coach Bob Chesney texted him and offered to help Dante Moore in every way possible. Moore suffered a concussion in Oregon’s victory U.S.C. last weekend.
“He texted me on the way back to L.A. and said, ‘Hey, if you need my help with Dante or anything and he’s still in L.A., I’ll go see this guy. I’m giving the team the day off tomorrow; let me know,'” Lanning said on the show, according to Zachary Neal of Ducks Wire. “It’s a testament to the kind of person he is. I have a lot of respect for him and his program.”

“It was unusual,” Lanning added. “Pretty incredible. Big credit to Bob. And he didn’t do it so he could hear me say it in an interview. It was genuine, and it’s certainly appreciated. I have a lot of respect for Bob and the way he runs his program, and obviously the results on the field speak for themselves.”
Dante Moore was knocked out of the game before halftime after taking a hit from the USC defender. Desman Stephens II when entering a slide. Stephens was penalized for the hit and was ejected from the game.
Dante Moore says “I’ll be back soon”
Earlier this week, Moore provided an update on his status. “To my team, the community and the world, thank you,” Moore wrote on Instagram. “These last 2 days have been very difficult, but thanks to all your prayers, I have made progress.”
Moore added: “There are times when I question myself and the Lord and say Why now? But I quickly remember Jeremiah 29:11,” Moore wrote before quoting the Bible verse: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ I can only worry about today and make sure I give it its full attention. I’ll be back soon.
Moore completed 8 of 10 passes for 77 before suffering a concussion. Dylan Raiola replaced Moore and completed 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns to Oregon for a 41-27 victory over USC.
