Desperate Putin releases ‘General Armageddon’ who called for ‘nuclear’ war after years in exile following Wagner coup
DESPERATE Vladimir Putin is preparing to deploy the famous warlord “General Armageddon” to the Ukrainian front line after years of exile.
After years of exile in Africa, there are growing fears that bloodthirsty Sergei Surovikin, 59, will be deployed again to the war in Ukraine in a last-ditch effort by the Kremlin.
Surovikin, considered a daring military tactician and one of Russia’s cruelest commanders, supported the use of nuclear weapons early in the conflict.
He is now reportedly back in Moscow as Russian military commentator Colonel Viktor Baranets confirmed Surovikin’s decision, saying: “Generals like this don’t hang out on the couch.”
“Russia and its army need such generals.
“In the Kremlin and the Ministry of Defense, people are seriously considering how to adapt Surovikin, a tough, decisive and powerful military commander, to the realities currently emerging on the ground. battlefield“,

Ukraine ‘kills General Hero of Russia’ in strike on base
This ruthless returnee led the entire Russian war campaign in Ukraine from October 2022 until Putin ended it in January 2023.
He lost Putin’s trust amid fears in the Kremlin that he was planning a coup led by Wagner’s warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin, who summer.
Prigozhin was later killed in a suspicious plane crash which many believe was an order to assassinate the despot.
Surovikin, known for his brutality in the wars in Syria and Chechnya, was punished by being sent into exile to oversee Putin’s military operations in North Africa.
With the prodigal commander returning from exile, one theory suggests that General Armageddon will lead operations to capture the Ukrainian strongholds of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, where Russian forces continue to lose ground.
Other speculation suggests he could lead a new offensive on kyiv as far as occupied Chernihiv.
The decision to bring in a brutal figure comes as striking new figures show how Putin is increasingly targeting civilians in Ukraine in his new “no rules” war strategy.
The despot aims to strangle Kyiv and force terrified residents to flee.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said that on average more than 400 civilians were killed or injured each week in Ukraine during the first eight months of 2026.
This is an increase of 55 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
A total of 15,280 civilians were killed or injured in the first eight months of the year, according to the UN report.
The swirling speculation over Surovikin came as Putin lost two warplanes – an Su-35S and a Su-34 worth a combined £112 million – in a Ukrainian drone strike on the Khanskaya airbase in the Adygea region.
Russian drones have struck oil storage tanks in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.
This followed a Ukrainian success on the largest European network oil a tank farm in the Samara region, which cost Putin at least £151 million in fuel.
Meanwhile, in a show of force toward the West, Russia conducted anti-submarine naval exercises in the Barents Sea against simulated NATO forces.
“The training ships operated as part of a naval search and strike group, practicing the search and destruction of a simulated enemy submarine in coordination with Northern Fleet submarines and anti-submarine aircraft,” a statement said.
“Air defense tasks, including a series of live-fire anti-aircraft engagements, were also practiced during the exercise.”
The war games involved large anti-submarine ships Severomorsk and Vice Admiral Kulakov.
