Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis appear to have broken up. More to the point, it seems like he dumped her out of the blue. On Friday, Zilis — a former Musk employee and mother of four of his children — wrote in a lengthy X post that she and Musk were going well a week ago before he decided to leave her without warning.
“It’s hard to go from love to abandonment in a week without warning, but that’s how it is sometimes,” Zilis wrote in response to an article reporting that Musk had unfollowed her on Zilis said that because of Musk’s “often tortured soul” and “the way he fights for humanity,” she wanted to give him “the deepest, most stable form of love this world can offer.” Uh-huh.
In her message, Zilis seemed quite torn by Musk’s departure. She wrote that she “loved him more than life itself” and that he would “miss her very much.” Zilis added that even though there is “a lot of loss,” they will always have their children. Musk and Zilis welcomed twins Strider and Azure in 2021, just weeks before Musk welcomed his second child with singer Grimes. Musk and Zilis went on to have a daughter, Arcadia, in 2024 and a son, Seldon Lycurgus, whose birth was announced in 2025. Before their parental relationship, Zilis worked for Musk as a director at Neuralink. During his testimony at the OpenAI trial in May, Musk said Zilis was his chief of staff; she denied that this was her role. It is unclear what his current job is.
As proof of the fact that they were “in love” a week ago, Zilis included a screenshot of their text messages. After writing “I love you too,” Musk appears to have told Zilis that if he had known he could bring one person to last week’s state dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he would have invited them. She seemed to find it very romantic, writing: “Oh, this means so much to me. » Ladies, remember that it is not gentle for a man to tell you something he would be have done. Defend yourself!
Musk has yet to comment on the split. Instead, he’s on X to congratulate David Ellison on the Warner Bros. merger. and Paramount. Either we’ll hear his side of the story soon, or he’ll just be dating a new woman who’s already carrying his 15th child. With him, you really never know, which is apparently also true even if you’ve been his partner for several years.
