Elizabeth Holmes posted a cryptic message on social media appearing to support President Donald Trump as comedian Nathan Fielder’s documentary about the convicted Theranos founder is set to hit theaters next month.
On Friday, Holmes’ X account retweeted a video posted by Trump that highlighted his administration’s accomplishments and added the caption: “We are winning.”
Holmes’ X account notes in its bio that the posts are “mostly my words, posted by others.” This was one of many messages shared this week when the trailer for “You Can See Everything” was released. In one post, the account shared an AI-generated image of Holmes standing in front of a burning bridge.
“I don’t get angry often,” the message read. “Tonight, I am. People are putting my child’s health and safety at risk. They have knowingly and consciously chosen this path. If protecting my child means burning bridges, I will burn them to light the way. It’s time to sleep. I’ll pick up the match tomorrow.”
Another post featured a photo of her holding her baby on a boat with the caption: “I don’t know, here I am on an airboat.”
Holmes was convicted in January 2022 and sentenced to 11 years in prison after defrauding investors of millions of dollars through lies about her biotechnology company’s blood testing capabilities.
Fielder’s film, which hits theaters October 16, follows Holmes and her family as she prepares to go to prison.
Holmes remained a subject of continuing cultural fascination after she went from Silicon Valley icon and youngest self-made female billionaire to convicted criminal following the implosion of Theranos.
New reports also emerged that the 42-year-old is expected to leave the minimum-security federal detention camp in Bryan, Texas, for a halfway house next summer.
There is no evidence that the Trump administration interfered with his planned transfer to a halfway house. However, Holmes formally submitted a pardon request to the Justice Department’s Office of the Pardon Attorney last December, which remains considered pending.
Promotional footage for the documentary, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, shows Fielder directly questioning Holmes and his partner, hotel heir William Evans, about the fraud allegations and their relationship.
In one clip, Fielder asks Holmes if she thinks she did something wrong, to which she responds: “I didn’t.” »
In another exchange, Fielder asks Evans if he was ever afraid that Holmes would “rip him off” because of his family’s wealth, to which Evans responds, “One hundred percent, but what did she have to gain from me?”
The federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, has housed several other high-profile inmates, including Ghislaine Maxwell, who was transferred there last summer, and “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” cast member Jen Shah, who completed her six-year sentence for wire fraud in August.
