Execution date set for Fort Hood killer Nidal Hasan at military base where he carried out massacre
Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan will be put to death in the same manner and location where he carried out his bloody rampage, officials revealed Tuesday in announcing an execution date.
Hasan — who killed 12 U.S. service members, one civilian, and wounded 32 others in a horrific November 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood — will be executed by firing squad on Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at the very military base he once terrorized, Secretary of the Army Adam Telle announced in an X-post Tuesday evening.
The method of killing the murderous former soldier – by firing squad – was recommended by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and approved by President Trump on Monday, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced.
“The day of reckoning for Hasan has finally arrived,” Parnell wrote in another X article announcing the method of death, noting that Hassan “screamed ‘Allahu Akbar’ during the attack (2009).”
Hasan, a former army major and psychiatrist turned terrorist, attacked troops in line to get vaccinated at the Texas military base before being shot in the back and left paralyzed by a responding police officer.
During the trial, the crazed major told a military judge he was defending “the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Taliban.”
He was sentenced to death by a military court in 2013.
Hasan will be the first soldier to be executed by the armed forces since 1961.
