FBI Director Kash Patel engaged to country singer Alexis Wilkins
WASHINGTON — FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, the couple revealed in a statement Sunday.
Wilkins, 27, announced the news with a photo posted to social media of her showing off her new diamond ring while standing next to Patel, 46. The couple was all smiles.
“I went to involve the law,” she joked.
The couple met at a friends event in Nashville in 2022. They began dating in early 2023.
“We just met,” Wilkins recalled last year of their relationship, brushing aside a question about their age gap in an interview on the “Megyn Kelly Show.”
“I always liked him, when I met him, I just liked that he was so honest,” Wilkins added. “He is exactly who he is all the time. His character is incredible. His values are incredible.”
The two remained close as Patel carried out his demanding job as FBI top boss and took heat from the media.
On Sunday, the FBI director then shared his new fiancée’s message alongside heart and diamond ring emojis.
Like Patel, Wilkins is conservative and hosted a Rumble show. She also served as a board member of the National Rifle Association.
She released her EP “Grit” in 2023 and was scheduled to perform at the Freedom 250 event on the National Mall in Washington, DC on July 4.
The relationship between the two men has been under intense scrutiny since Patel took over the office.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee criticized Patel’s use of a private jet after reports claimed the FBI boss used a private jet to visit his girlfriend, attend sporting events and more.
Patel stressed that he was legally prohibited from flying for commercial purposes.
“(We) pay for our personal travel, which we do, as do all Cabinet members and other agency heads,” Patel told the “Katie Miller Podcast” in December.
In another controversy, Wilkins slapped former FBI agent-turned-podcaster Kyle Seraphin with a $5 million defamation lawsuit, accusing him of maliciously calling her an Israeli “honey pot” sent by the Mossad spy agency to seduce and manipulate Patel.
She is also suing MS Now over a December report alleging that Patel ordered her security guards to escort one of her drunk friends home after a drunken night out in Nashville.
An office spokesperson confirmed in November that Wilkins was receiving protection after receiving “hundreds of credible death threats related to her relationship with Director Patel, whom she has been dating for three years.”
Wilkins made a rare public appearance last month to support her now-fiancé during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
