The FBI raided a Los Angeles-area mansion Tuesday linked to Stephen Cloobeck billionaire and former Democratic donor a close associate of the former Rep. Eric Swalwell .
“FBI executes federal search warrant” in Beverly Hills mansion, listed on Cloobeck California business records, a spokesperson for the FBI’s Los Angeles field office said in a statement.
No arrests are expected and the search warrant affidavit remains sealed, the spokesperson said. The FBI search was related to “an ongoing criminal investigation,” a Justice Department spokesperson said in a statement, declining to provide further details.
Cloobeck former candidate for governor of California, dropped his candidacy and donated more than $1 million to back after declaring his candidacy. But he later said he had cut ties with the former lawmaker after sexual assault allegations against Swalwell emerged.
