Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Ego Nwodim appeared to respond to Shane Gillis’ controversial monologue during his latest hosting stint Saturday, during which he said women who wear short shorts to the gym are dressing like “whores.”

“Damn at work,” Nwodim captioned an Instagram Story on Monday that featured a photo of herself in the gym wearing black leggings, a long-sleeve black shirt and a black baseball cap.

She then posted a photo of her post-workout meal, writing: “Taking my 30 grams of protein after healing,” with “heauxing” being slang for “whore.”

Gillis’ monologue sparked backlash online in the days that followed, with people calling the raunchy comedian “tone-deaf” for making a comment about women’s bodies, especially as the country grapples with the scandal of an alleged sexual assault at Cornell University.

In the seven-minute monologue, Gillis claimed he “didn’t know women dress like whores now” at the gym. He then described the “artificially colored neon” shorts that women wear to work out and how men are not allowed to look at women in these shorts.

Cecily Strong, Nwodim’s former “SNL” castmate, also commented on Gillis’ remarks, posting a photo of her legs and feet in athletic gear to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

“Heading to Pilates with my new orange shoes and rainbow socks,” Strong wrote in the caption. “May sell sex on the way, I’m not sure.”

“PS: There have been gang rapes at Cornell which may not count because New York law says if you consent to drinking, you consent to whatever happens to you,” she added.

Actor Dan Levy joined the conversation Sunday evening. In a selfie video posted to Instagram, he said: “Women who wear short shorts to the gym doesn’t make them whores. It makes men call them misogynists. There’s a difference there.”

He then called women “superior human beings than men” and called on the male population to support their female counterparts more often.

Saturday was Gillis’ third time hosting the late-night comedy show. He was hired, then quickly fired from the cast in 2019 after clips of racist jokes he previously made on his podcast surfaced online.

Nwodim was on “SNL” from 2018 to 2025 and became a mainstay of the cast with recurring characters such as Miss Eggy and Lisa from Temecula.
