Here’s what CNBC TV producers were watching at the start of October trading and what’s on the radar for the next session. The Jobs Report The September Nonfarm Payrolls Report comes out at 8:30 a.m. ET live on “Squawk Box” with Becky Quick, Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The Dow Jones consensus estimate is 84,000. In August, it was 162,000. The big American bond The 10-year Treasury yield reached its highest level since April 2002. It now stands at 5.243%. The 2-year yield is now at 4.791%. The yield on 3-month Treasury bills is 4.094%. “Fast Money” trader Courtney Garcia gave municipal bonds a boost Thursday night. She sees some in the range of more than 7%. Tim Seymour, also known for “Fast Money,” said he loves the 2-year-old right now. The iShares 0-5 Year High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (SHYG) yields 7.18% Thursday evening. Montagne US10Y YTD The American 10-year yield in 2026 The French 10-year bond It now pays 4.93%. The cost of credit default swaps on French five-year bonds jumped 52 basis points on Thursday. According to a Reuters report, this is the largest increase since 2017. The cost is now double what it was six months ago. West Texas Intermediate crude futures are trading around $93 a barrel Thursday evening. This comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that the United States will send a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East. The Fidelity MSCI Energy Index ETF (FENY) rose about 2% on Thursday. FENY 5D Mountain The Fidelity MSCI Energy Index ETF (FENY) over the past five days Big calls in 2026 and another big win for ‘Mad Money’ man Jim Cramer As we enter the fourth quarter, Mizuho’s call on Revolution Medicines is one of the best of the year. The stock is up nearly 160% since the start of the year. Jefferies and Okta: The company was bullish on Okta in January. The stock is up about 146% so far this year. Jefferies was also big on CrowdStrike earlier this year. Shares are up 127% year to date. Jim Cramer also hit the mark on this one, purchasing it for the charity in March. Cramer beat the Jefferies team: CrowdStrike is up 160% since his call. Cramer’s Call on McDonald’s A great segment after 18 minutes of great spectacle if you want to follow it online: Cramer detailed the pros and cons under the famous golden arches. “The bottom may be within reach.” “I tend to be a buyer, not a seller.” “It’s a tremendous deal.” Cramer said McDonald’s has already rebounded from low points. He thinks this could be a unique opportunity. Shares are down 32% from their March high, hitting a 52-week low on Thursday. The stock is down 24% so far in 2026. It’s the second-worst stock this year in the Dow 30, after Nike. Nike is down 8% in extended after-earnings trading. More on this all day Friday on CNBC. MCD YTD mountain McDonald’s in 2026 Tesla Production and delivery figures could be released on Friday for the third quarter. The stock is down 29% from its Dec. 22 high. Tesla shares are down 6% in five days. Meta Platforms A New Mexico jury could make a decision Friday on what could amount to a $200 billion fine for Mark Zuckerberg and his company. This comes after a jury found Meta responsible for misleading the public about privacy. The stock is up 25% in a month and shares are down 7% from the September 24 high.
