Golden Retriever Will Keep a Woman Company – This Boy Has Serious People Skills
A woman sitting alone in the park has Joey’s full attention, and Mom already seems to know where this is going. The Golden Retriever continues to stare at her while her mother films her from behind, watching her sitting in the sun with her phone. Five seconds later, the clip from @joey_how_u_doinnn shows Joey happily accepting neck scratches and animals next to her. The friendly Golden Retriever clearly enjoys meeting strangers. On his way home, he sees another woman sitting alone and stops again.
Golden Retriever is welcomed alongside a stranger enjoying the sun
Joey starts by relaxing on the grass while Mom films him. A woman sits nearby, in the sun, looking at her phone. Joey notices this. The on-screen text says: “Joey’s eyes are on this girl and I know where this is going.” Mom zooms in on the woman, then back to Joey. He continues to watch her.
And five seconds later, there he is. Joey is sitting right next to her. She gives him some animals and his tail starts wagging. He moves closer as she rubs his neck and gives him long, happy pats. The text from Joey’s supposed point of view reads: “Hi ma’am, would you like a hug?” and of course she does.
He finally gets up and goes back to mom. But it doesn’t go very far. Something else caught his eye. “Eh.” Mom follows her gaze and sees another woman sitting alone further away. “Another ??”
Joey looks at Mom and wags his tail. Mom asks him: “What happened?” Joey turns his head towards the woman again. He starts to sit down, stops halfway and looks again. The text explains his dilemma: “I was going to lie down but I can’t leave the lady alone all alone.” That’s it for the break.
Joey gets up and walks towards her with what the video calls “affectionate tail wags.” The funny video of the friendly Golden Retriever has garnered more than 81,000 likes. One viewer joked that he simply lived up to his name (Joey from the sitcom Friends). Another called it “the most social living creature on this planet.”
