Presentation: The Raymond Weil Millésime Jubilee 50th anniversary chronograph

Born in 1976, Raymond Weil celebrates its 50th anniversary throughout the year 2026. After the launch of The Fifty at Watches & Wonders, the independent family brand based in Geneva continues the story with the Jubilee Chronograph. The Fifty was a 50-piece limited edition chronograph, powered by restored Valjoux movements from 1976 and housed in a 37mm case – the ultimate expression of the Millésime collection, if you will. The new Millesime Jubilee continues the anniversary celebrations with a watch whose architecture is closer to the classic Millesime automatic chronograph. It retains the neo-vintage character of The Fifty, but the Millésime Jubilee represents a more accessible way to participate in the celebrations, with a bicompax layout and a more classic automatic caliber.

Measuring 39 mm in diameter and 12.9 mm thick, the stainless steel case with polished and brushed elements follows the compact proportions that have become characteristic of the Millésime collection. It includes a flat, stepped bezel characteristic of 1940s chronographs, and rounded lugs of a certain elegance. Its glassbox sapphire crystal is anti-reflective treated on both sides and the sapphire case back reveals the movement. Classic pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock frame a fluted crown, adorned with the RW logo. Water resistance is rated at 50m.

The Millesime Jubilee Chronograph has a four-part dial with more colors than the Fifty. A silver grained ring is reserved for the indexes, while the azure-finish silver flange frames a light blue central disc. Two midnight blue snailed subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock form a bi-compax chronograph, differentiating this edition from the classic Millesime automatic chronograph. The central part alternates the gadroon finishes and bears the Raymond Weil Genève logo in relief and “EST 1976” in a cartouche. The black indexes and obelisk-shaped hands feature brilliant green Super-LumiNova. The running seconds are registered on the counter at 9 o’clock and the register at 3 o’clock records the chronograph minutes. Final note: RW sticks to a dateless display.

Inside is the automatic RW5030 (a Sellita SW510, itself a reconfigured Valjoux 7750), a bi-compax mechanical chronograph with a 62-hour power reserve. It provides the hours, minutes and small seconds as well as the central chronograph seconds and the 30-minute counter. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. It has a nicely matte, if industrial, finish and features a perforated trademark rotor.
