GTA 6 File Size Revealed, and It’s Huge
Ahead of the game’s November release, GTA 6’s file size has been revealed, and it’s huge. PlayStation Game Size reports that the $80 Standard Edition will take up 210 GB of storage capacity.
Sizing details for the $100 Ultimate Edition, which includes a ton of content not in the standard version, have not been made available. We also don’t know the Xbox Series X|S file size, but it’s probably around the same.
As previously announced, GTA 6 preload begins on November 12, which is good news considering the game is huge in terms of file size. People will undoubtedly have to remove other content to adapt the game to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. That’s double the file size of Rockstar’s latest game, Red Dead Redemption II.
Everyone expected GTA 6’s file sizes to be gigantic, but now there’s a number behind that, and it’s one that makes it one of the largest games ever made in terms of file size. GTA 6’s map is three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2’s, and the game is packed with detail in that game’s vein of horse testicles.
GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and is set to be the biggest game of all time. One report states that the game could reach 25 million pre-orders by launch, generating $2 billion in revenue.
GTA 6 is strictly a single-player game, but it’s safe to assume that Rockstar will eventually release a new version of GTA Online. A PC edition, meanwhile, is expected in early 2027.
