Here is Skydance’s buyout offer for employees who do not wish to make an RTO
David Ellison’s Skydance has just shared its buyout offer for employees who don’t want to return to the office five days a week.
Employees of the company, formed from the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, were informed Monday that they would soon have to work entirely in person. The company did not specify whether there were any exceptions to its new RTO mandate.
Eligible employees who don’t want to work in person can opt to receive a standard buyout package of two weeks of severance pay for each year spent at Paramount or WBD, two people familiar with the offer told Business Insider.
Most eligible employees will receive this offer, said a person familiar with Skydance’s proposal, although there may be exceptions to the timing or amount received.
Employees who have been offered a severance package must decide whether they will leave the company by 11 p.m. ET on November 8, says an HR email viewed by Business Insider.
Paramount employees assigned to an office were required to work from an office five days a week since the beginning of the year, while WBD employees were required to work from an office. work in an office at least three days a week.
“We recognize that as we bring our teams together, not everyone will see their future here,” Skydance’s HR team said in an email to staff.
The email from Skydance HR stated that this buyout “is a one-time offer” and informed employees that “no additional offers” were anticipated.

As David and Ynon explained earlier today, we recognize that by bringing our teams together, not everyone will see their future here. For some, this may be due to government policy or the pace of change. For others, it may instead reflect personal or professional goals. To give employees the flexibility to decide what is best for them, we offer a unique Voluntary Buyout (VBO) program to eligible employees. A VBO gives an eligible employee the opportunity to volunteer to leave the organization in exchange for severance pay. You are receiving this email because you meet the eligibility criteria and can choose whether or not to participate in this program. We recognize that this is an important personal decision. Please review this opportunity carefully and notify us of your decision to accept or decline no later than 8:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on November 8, 2026. Before you decide, please keep the following points in mind:
- Participation is completely voluntary.
- This is a one-time offer; no additional BO program is planned.
- If you do not respond within the deadline, you will be considered to have declined the offer.
- Once submitted, your decision can only be changed during your registration window.
- You may wish to consult a personal financial, tax, or legal advisor before making your decision.
