House Democrats aim for six new seats – which Trump won by an average of 16 points
The campaign arm of House Democrats is expanding its goals even further into Trump country, as the party becomes increasingly optimistic that it will not only win, but win big next month.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added six additional candidates to its coveted “Red to Blue” list Monday, the district chairman said. Donald Trump won by an average of 16 points or more in 2024, according to plans first shared with POLITICO.
In an interview Sunday, DCCC political director Brooke Butler also made some big predictions for Election Day, saying she expects Democrats to win control of the House — and that their majority could reach 240 seats.
“Anywhere between 218 and 240 seems very viable,” she said. “We’re confident we’ll get to 218. The question I’ve been asking people from the start of the cycle is ‘How many?'”
