EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Ilhan Omar’s older sister was questioned by federal investigators last week as part of an immigration fraud investigation targeting the congresswoman, Fox News Digital has learned.
Three sources close to the investigation said Sahra Noor voluntarily spoke with investigators after Monday morning’s high-profile raid at the residence Omar shares with her husband in Washington, DC. The scope of the conversation Noor had with investigators is unclear.
Like Omar, Noor came to the United States as a child, fleeing civil war in Somalia. She currently lives in Kenya, according to her LinkedIn page, but is in the United States to promote her new book, “Salt in the Snow: A Somali Immigrant Story.”
The House lawmaker’s sister canceled a Minnesota stop on the book tour last week amid fallout from the raid and subsequent interview with authorities.

The literary event, scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the University of Minnesota at Rochester, was promoted online by Garden Party Books, a local bookstore that billed itself as a “proud supporter” of the event alongside the university and the Rochester Public Library.
A representative for Garden Party Books told Fox News Digital last week that the event was canceled because Noor had a “family emergency.” It is now revealed that last week she was questioned by federal investigators.
Omar’s Washington home was raided by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the chief investigative agency of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), around 6 a.m. last Monday. Sources confirmed to Fox News Digital that the agency executed a search warrant as part of an immigration fraud investigation.
Specifically, they are looking into whether the lawmaker or his father falsified information while filling out his citizenship documents.

Border czar Tom Homan revealed this weekend that if the allegations are proven, they could lead to Omar’s denaturalization.
During the raid, Omar’s home phone, passport and computer were seized, The Wall Street Journal reported last week. And Omar’s lawyers demanded this weekend that the Justice Department return some of the property confiscated by HSI.
Additionally, The New York Times reported that about a dozen people, including Omar’s relatives, have been subpoenaed in the case.
Omar has not been seen publicly since before the raid, although her husband was seen several times walking their dog, taking out the trash and talking outside the house with one of the congresswoman’s aides. Omar did not respond to repeated requests for comment from Fox News Digital, but she reacted publicly to the raid on social media.

“This Trump DHS raid constitutes an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented escalation in the militarization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies,” she said in a statement released 10 hours after federal authorities arrived at her home.

“For a decade, Donald Trump relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with incendiary rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back,” the post continued. “Now these attacks have escalated into an unnecessary federal raid. The congresswoman did nothing wrong. No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.”
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital last Tuesday, Vice President JD Vance said the investigation was not politically motivated.
“We don’t want to be like the Biden administration. We never want to be like that – where they would allow the law to go after their political opponents,” he said.

“We really want to let the law and the facts guide all of this,” he continued. “And if justice demands that something else be done, then, of course, we will take a step when we have to.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Noor, but did not receive a response prior to publication.
