Season 52 of “Saturday Night Live” is well into its stride after a successful episode featuring a New York City hero. During the premiere last week, New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson hosted the episode to continue the city’s winning tour after helping the team win the 2026 NBA championship. Meanwhile, Katseye joined the celebration as the musical guest.

“Saturday Night Live” continues its momentum this week, with a band making its debut and a bona fide celebrity as host. Keep reading for everything you need to know about the second episode of season 52.

Is there a new episode of SNL tonight?

Season 52 of “Saturday Night Live” continues tonight, although fans may still be getting used to the cast changes. Chloe Fineman and Martin Herlihy are absent, and TikTok stars Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter have been called in to fill the casting gaps.

Reiter and Belo-Osagie made their first appearances in last week’s pre-recorded “Dream Academy” sketch with Katseye and the “Young Rell’s Crew” with Jalen Brunson. But they still seem to be finding their feet on “SNL” before showing the public their true talents.

Who is hosting SNL tonight?

Dakota Johnson returns for the third time to host this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” putting her halfway to snag the lucrative “Five Timers Club” dress. Johnson first hosted “SNL” in 2015 to promote her breakout role on “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and she returned nine years later to promote her less breakout role on “Madame Web.”

This time, the “Materialists” star is promoting “Verity,” another adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novels, which stars Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett. The “Persuasion” star will likely bring up her friend Taylor Swift, as Johnson is set to star in the upcoming music video “Patient Zero,” a song from Swift’s deluxe album “The Life of A Showgirl: The Encore.”

Will Johnson finish her battle roast sketch with the Please Don’t Destroy team? Or even make fun of “Madame Web”? We’ll find out tonight.

Who is the musical guest on SNL tonight?

“Saturday Night Live” shifts from pop to rock this week with Turnstile making his musical guest debut. The band consists of vocalist Brendan Yates, bassist Franz Lyons, drummer Daniel Fang, and the band has two guitarists, Pat McCrory and Meg Mills.

Although the group formed in 2010, they only began to gain real recognition in the 2020s. They earned their first Grammy nominations in the rock and metal categories in 2023 and won their first two Grammys in 2026. Today, they are celebrating their wins with two performances on “Saturday Night Live.”

Who is the host and musical guest on SNL next week?

The third episode of “Saturday Night Live” has another host for the third time: Shane Gillis. Fans may remember that Gillis was fired from “Saturday Night Live” after a video resurfaced in 2019 of the comedian using a racial slur. Since Gillis became a successful comedian, this will be the third year in a row that the “Tires” star will host. Rosalía will join Gillis as a musical guest, who has also previously performed on the show once.

What time does SNL start?

Colin Jost and Michael Che host BNC

“SNL” airs episodes at the same time every week, so you can’t miss them. The episode begins at 11:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 p.m. CT, and 8:30 p.m. PT. If you miss the live show, you can catch up on what you missed anytime on Peacock once it lands on the streaming platform.

Where can I watch SNL?

NBC will air the episode tonight and Peacock will also stream the episode live on the platform. On Sunday mornings, Peacock uploads the full episode so you can stream it at your convenience. If you don’t have a Peacock subscription, NBC also uploads many clips from the show to YouTube, although you won’t get the full episode experience.
