Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins injury updates ahead of Bengals vs. Dolphins

The Cincinnati Bengals are in the midst of their first losing streak this season after losing to Jacksonville at home on Sunday. Adding injury to insult, star receivers Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (adductor) were unable to finish the game.

Fortunately, it doesn’t appear that either player will face a long-term problem.

During his press conference on Monday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said both players are day-to-day.

“We’ll take it day by day,” Taylor said of Chase and Higgins. “Ja’Marr is still in concussion protocol.”

Taylor would not commit to whether either player would play in Week 5 when the Bengals travel to Miami to face the Dolphins.

Because Chase is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, it will be difficult for him to be cleared in time for Sunday. But with a bye for Week 6 coming up, he shouldn’t miss more than one game as long as there are no setbacks.

As for Higgins, the good news is that his adductor injury is not a weekly injury. His status for Sunday is definitely uncertain, but thanks to this upcoming bye, he should have a good chance of being able to play in Baltimore in Week 7.
