Jenny McCarthy’s two-year health nightmare left her physically exhausted, emotionally shaken and so frightened by exposure to mold that she traded her home for a tent in a desperate attempt to heal.
The former TV host revealed her ordeal began in 2024 and spiraled into a series of painful infections, surgeries and unexplained symptoms during an episode of “The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show.”
“Okay, I’ve been dying to tell you this story because the last two years of my life have been completely crazy. Crazy, okay?” McCarthy told his viewers. “Some of you already know that I’ve dealt with mold and mycotoxin poisoning. I’ve written about it in bits and pieces before.”

McCarthy claimed this whole ordeal started in 2024 with a toothache.
“And somehow it led me down a rabbit hole of doctors, surgeries, teeth being knocked out, mysterious tumors appearing in unexpected places, implants literally falling out, and eventually I realized my immune system was fighting something much more serious,” she said.
McCarthy’s health spiraled into a series of medical complications, including serious dental infections, repeated surgeries, jaw injuries and recurring eye cysts.
The former “The View” co-host also battled debilitating leg cramps, facial swelling, worsening food allergies and insomnia before undergoing tests that she says revealed mold poisoning. McCarthy said the illness compromised her body’s ability to fight infections, leaving her physically and emotionally exhausted.

“At one point, you know, I was so desperate to get better that I was literally living in a tent,” she revealed. “It’s true, living in a tent!”
After repeated procedures and inconclusive attempts to resolve her health issues, McCarthy said she experienced significant medical fatigue and grew increasingly fearful of potential environmental triggers. She said she felt “like a fucking paranoid schizophrenic.”
“I thought everything was poisoning me at this point, because look at me, I was such a mess, okay?”
McCarthy’s functional medicine doctor eventually suggested testing her for mold after observing her repeated health problems. She initially rejected the idea because she thought her house was clean.

Around Christmas, she said the doctor urgently contacted her with test results indicating significant mold concerns.
“(My doctor) said, ‘No, I need to talk to you now, you better call.’ So I talk to her on the phone and she says, “Jenny, you have serious mold. You have the type of mold that causes seizures. If this thing crosses the blood-brain barrier, I’ll talk to you at the hospital. You’re going to start having seizures,” McCarthy recalled the doctor telling him.
McCarthy said she underwent an extensive treatment regimen after being diagnosed with what she described as mold and mycotoxin poisoning. Her protocol included daily infrared sauna sessions, numerous vitamins and supplements, a powder drink, nasal spray treatments, and lymphatic castor oil packs.

“I’m still in mold rehab, guys,” she revealed. “I’m still in it, I’m knee-deep in it. I’m on month seven of rehab and I’m too paranoid to honestly live anywhere other than a tent.”
McCarthy said the physical consequences were only part of the nightmare, admitting the experience left her struggling to shake off the fear that mold was lurking everywhere.
“I’m still in the trauma part. I’m not even in the post part yet because I feel like now everything is mold,” she said. “I can sniff out mold honestly, like a moldy dog. Just like I can walk into a building, I have to get out of it immediately.”
