Jets’ Breece Hall deactivated his Twitter account due to threats and negative comments amid injury
New York Jets running back Breece Hall had to silence the noise after some fans went too far.
Hall told reporters Thursday that he deactivated his X account because of negative comments and threats he received while he was sidelined with a quad injury for the past five weeks.
After opening the season with a 102-yard performance in a win over the Tennessee Titans, Hall combined for just 61 yards in the next two games. He was forced to leave New York during the Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions after injuring his quad, and he hasn’t played since.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters earlier this week that Hall was “going in the right direction.” He has practiced on a limited basis over the past two weeks while the team takes a cautious approach to his recovery.
During Hall’s absence, third-year running back Braelon Allen established himself as a reliable running back, racking up 504 yards in his five games as a starter. It remains to be seen how New York will utilize both running backs when Hall returns.
The Jets (2-6) face a tough game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2), so they might need as much help as possible. Hall can silence his doubters if he returns to the lineup and helps the team end its three-game skid.
