John Mayer returns to the Sphere in Las Vegas next year for a series of shows that will include three distinct settings.
During the April 2027 residency, Mayer will perform as a solo artist, with a full band, and with the John Mayer Trio. The solo set will primarily feature Mayer alone on acoustic guitar, or occasionally on piano and electric guitar. And the Trio set will see Mayer reunite with his blues-rock bandmates, bassist Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, for the first time live since 2023.
Mayer’s run at the Sphere will begin on April 8, with additional shows scheduled for April 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18. A ticket presale will begin October 7 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, with registration at noon on Mayer’s website. General ticket on-sale begins October 9 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
Although this is Mayer’s first time performing at the Sphere as a solo artist, he knows the venue very well having completed two residencies there with Dead and Co. in 2024 and 2025. Last year’s shows also ended up being among the last the Grateful Dead spinoff group would ever play due to the death of Bob Weir in January.
Although Dead and Company has been one of Mayer’s main projects in recent years, he has continued to perform fairly regularly as a solo artist. This year he’s played a handful of international shows, a few intimate club gigs in the U.S., and just performed at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin this past weekend (September 26-27). Mayer released his most recent solo album, Rock sobbingin 2021.
