Kevin Reddington’s bid to get Lindsay Clancy murder charges dropped rejected
Lindsay Clancy’s attorney lost his fourth attempt Thursday to have murder charges against his client, the accused murderous mother, dismissed.
Judge William Sullivan denied a motion by Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, to find her not guilty of all three first-degree murder charges after the high-profile case ended in a mistrial on September 4.

Reddington, 75, defended the motion in court Tuesday, questioning evidence that the 36-year-old mother strangled her three young children with elastic bands.
“Where is the evidence that she did this?” » he asked the court, before insisting: “This whole matter is based on speculation. »
But Sullivan ruled in a ruling Thursday that prosecutors presented enough evidence at trial of Clancy’s alleged crimes and therefore could not drop the charges.
“Evidence has been presented, both material and circumstantial, that would enable a rational finder of facts to find beyond a reasonable doubt the elements of the murder charge,” the judge said.

During the six-week trial, prosecutors alleged that Clancy coldly planned and carried out the murders of his children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in their Duxbury, Massachusetts, basement on January 24, 2023.
But Reddington asked the jury to find her not guilty by reason of insanity, saying she suffered from extreme postpartum psychosis and heard a voice ordering her to kill the children and herself.
Reddington had previously tried three other times to have the charges against his client dropped, but Sullivan had denied each attempt.
The trial ended earlier this month after the jury of nine women and three men said three times they could not reach a unanimous agreement after seven days of deliberations.
Several jurors spoke out publicly after the mistrial and revealed that 11 jury members favored finding Clancy not criminally responsible, while only one resister wanted to convict her.
Prosecutors have not announced how they plan to move forward with the case and a new trial date has not yet been set.
Clancy is due back in court on November 2.
Reddington did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday afternoon.
