Five-term Republican Sen. Susan Collins said Wednesday morning that she has conceded her re-election race to Democratic challenger Troy Jackson.
ABC News has not yet projected the results of the race.
“It has been the honor of my life to serve the people of Maine in the United States Senate. I am proud of all that I have been able to accomplish for our state and for our country over the past 30 years,” Collins said in a statement.
The race was shaken up earlier this year when Graham Platner, the initial Democratic nominee, withdrew from the race due to sexual assault allegations.
The state also has races for House seats and for governor.
