The Commanders are down to their third quarterback.
Quarterback Marcus Mariota started today against the Colts in London because Jayden Daniels injured his elbow, but in the first quarter Mariota was injured and headed to the locker room, replaced by third baseman Athan Kaliakmanis.
Commanders said Mariota’s return was questionable because of a right knee injury, which he suffered when Colts defensive lineman Laiatu Latu landed on Mariota’s right lower leg and bent it awkwardly.
Kaliakmanis is a seventh-round rookie who played his college football at Rutgers and Minnesota.
