The trailer features “in-engine footage” and uses “pre-production assets,” according to a message at the start of the video. The video focuses on a former soldier in conversation with a mysterious Asari character who approaches him in a bar, including a flashback to a fight that feels like a modern take on the original trilogy’s gameplay. This all seems very Mass effectfeaturing human and alien species mixing together, brief action sequences, and an appearance by a prominent character from the original trilogy. The trailer ends with a title: Mass Effect: Universe.
It appears to be the real deal; BloombergJason Schreier of , says this is a “real trailer for the Mass Effect game that BioWare was developing until it was shut down yesterday” and IGN says it has “verified” that the trailer is “legitimate”.
