NFL Week 5 Picks: Upset and Score Predictions, Matchup Breakdowns for Every Game | Latest NFL News, Analysis and Updates
Why Brooke chose the Falcons: Is there anyone better in prime time than Bijan Robinson? Not in my book, although Derrick Henry might have something to say about that. But God bless the schedulers who gave us Bijan three times on night games in the first five weeks. In Atlanta’s last two games (road routs of Green Bay and New Orleans), he has totaled 339 yards and four scores. It feels like nothing can stop Bijan at this point. I expect a heavy dose of running game from two of the league’s best rushing attacks, especially if Lamar Jackson doesn’t suit up. The two-time MVP has an outside chance to play Sunday night after injuring his ankle in Baltimore’s last game. If he can’t go, Tyler Huntley would make his first start of the season. He’s proven to be a capable backup (he won both of his starts for the Ravens in 2025), but will he do enough in the passing game to keep Atlanta’s defense from relying solely on Henry? Replacing Jackson in the second half last week, Huntley attempted just one pass of 10 or more air yards, while three were short throws (0-9 yards) and five occurred behind the line of scrimmage. I’m not sure this will get the job done against a Falcons offense that scored easily with Michael Penix Jr. under center. If Jackson is healthy and playing, it becomes much harder to predict. Still, it’s tough to face these Falcons right now.
Additional note: Sunday would mark Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews’ 200th consecutive start. The longtime veteran left Monday night’s game with a groin injury, putting the NFL’s longest streak of active consecutive starts in jeopardy. This type of longevity is extremely rare, and it would be a real shame if it fell just below such a number of steps.
