Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 23.0.1 is now available, here are the full patch notes

Nintendo released a major update for the Switch 2 earlier in September, bumping the system’s firmware to version 23.0.0.
Now it rolled Version 23.0.1 at the end of the month to resolve some small problems for which the software may take longer than expected to perform an action. Below are both sets of patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page.
Notably, there’s no mention of stability improvements, but it should still improve your overall experience on Switch and Switch 2. So here’s the rundown:
Switch 2 Ver. 23.0.1 (released September 30, 2026)
Fixed an issue in system version 23.0.0 where the software sometimes took a long time to start, pause, or close.
Switch 1 Ver. 23.0.1 (released September 30, 2026)
Fixed an issue in system version 23.0.0 where the software sometimes took a long time to start, pause, or close.
Of course, if anything else is discovered regarding this latest firmware update, we’ll be sure to let you know. This again follows a major update earlier this month, which added VRR output in TV mode on the Switch 2. Welcome Tour also received an update to support this in its “VRR Slider Demo.”
Nintendo also recently released backwards compatibility updates for several Switch titles, including games like Ninja Five-O and Go Vacation. You can see the full list in our previous article:
