‘Nobody Wants That’ Star Tovah Feldshuh Addresses ‘Tensions’ Around Palestine
“Nobody Wants That” star Tovah Feldshuh swears there are no feuds between the cast over the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“Tensions are NOT increasing. Deep differences of opinion are,” Feldshuh, 77, wrote via Threads on Friday, October 30, responding to rumors that the actors were feuding. “Please don’t confuse the two – and none of it will be brought on set.”
She continued: “I deeply enjoy filming Northwest Territories and hope we are cast for a fourth season.”
Last month, Adam Brody, who plays a rabbi in the Netflix series, spoke about the conflict in the Middle East.
“I’ve talked about it a lot privately. I haven’t talked about it a lot publicly,” the “OC” alum shared in GQ. “Tell me I think this is genocide. Tell me I want a free Palestine.
“It’s horrible that it took so much death and misery, but I feel like we’re reaching a breaking point that should have been a while ago. I hope another administration can really do some good and fix some of these policies that are helping to make this situation as horrible as it is.”
Feldshuh, who plays Brody’s mother Bina in the series, strongly disagrees with her on-screen son.
“Accusing the Jewish people of genocide is insane,” she told the Post. “This is straight out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator of the crime.”
“My job, as Bina but also as Tovah, is to love the people on set in my workplace, to be kind,” she said.
Rabbi Steve Leder, who was the technical advisor on the show’s first season, also lambasted Brody, calling him an “ignorant Jew.”
The series follows Rabbi Noah Roklov (Brody), who is in a relationship with Joanne, a non-Jewish sex podcaster, played by Kristen Bell.
It is loosely based on designer Erin Foster’s relationship with her husband Simon Tikhman.
Season 3 of the romantic series was recently dropped.
