Olivia Rodrigo’s dress literally melts on her body on stage

Olivia Rodrigo just pulled off some truly incredible sartorial magic — and she did it live on stage. The singer kicked off her Unraveled Tour in Hartford, Conn. on September 25, and during the show, she showed off her new selection of tour looks, including an utterly magical melting mini dress.

In footage from the show captured by a fan and shared online, the singer could be seen wearing a sleeveless white collared dress with a button-down design and a pleated mini skirt. As she sang her song “The Cure”, rain began to fall on her. Slowly, the white dress began to melt and fall from her body, transforming in real time to reveal a sizzling strapless corset bodysuit with a micro miniskirt underneath.

Elsewhere in her concert wardrobe, Rodrigo also wore one of her signature white babydoll dresses, as well as a graphic cropped tee paired with hot pink micro mini shorts.

Rodrigo found herself at the center of a speech when she wore a similar slip dress during a performance in Barcelona in May.

“It upset me so much,” she said of the speech that followed the performance during an appearance on New York Times‘Popcast’ podcast.

“What’s really disturbing is that I feel like I’ve worn revealing outfits on stage,” she added. “I went on stage in a sparkly bra and tiny shorts, which is my right. It’s fun. I felt cool and comfortable in it. And it wasn’t ‘inappropriate’ – but I was completely covered in a dress that people consider childish. was inappropriate.”

Rodrigo concluded, “I think it shows how much we really normalize pedophilia in our culture. And it’s also just this rhetoric that we’re fed as girls since we were so little, which is like, ‘Don’t wear that because then a man is going to sexualize your body and it’s your fault.’ “It’s so weird.
