Pixel 11 series still not on Android 17 QPR1 with October update

With yesterday’s October 2026 update, the Pixel 11 series is not yet running Android 17 QPR1.
The Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold launched in August with the base version of Android 17. In September, the Pixel 11 series received two initial updates that presumably fixed issues that had arisen since its launch.
Later that month, Google rolled out QPR1 to all other devices. Visual changes in the quarterly release include system blur for the volume slider and power menu, while there is an updated system media player that becomes narrower when other apps are available. The Mobile Data Quick Settings tile gets a time-saving “Don’t ask me again” toggle, while there’s now a QoS Keyboard tile.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 series did not receive the initial Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 release and had to wait a few days for Beta 6.1, which introduced HiLight support for message notifications. He got beta 17 QPR3 without issue a few days later.
This week’s October release contains fixes for the Pixel 11:
- Fixed an issue where the virtual keyboard would sometimes not appear when interacting with search input fields*(1)
- Fixed an issue sometimes causing captured photos or recorded videos to be saved in the incorrect orientation*(3)
It’s unlikely we’ll get a second release in October, with all eyes on November. With QPR2 only a month away at this point, Google could wait until December to get all the devices in line.
