Prince Harry booed during appearance at UK rugby match
Prince Harry was booed when he was spotted enjoying a low-key outing at a rugby match on Friday.
Harry, who was not accompanied by his wife, Meghan Markle, was apparently having a beer and watching the Leicester v Gloucester match with Andrea Pinchen, Leicester’s chief executive, when he was projected onto the venue’s big screen, according to APF.
Some spectators responded with boos before the TNT cameras cut off.
“A few boos there,” TNT commentator Nick Mullins confirmed, according to the outlet.
Harry’s strained relationship with his father, King Charles, and older brother, Prince William, has been widely documented since he and Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and moved to California.
Additionally, the couple has since publicly aired their grievances against the royal family, including in their 2022 Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” and Harry’s explosive 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
As previously reported, Page Six confirmed in August that Meghan and Harry were returning to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for “an extended period of time”, apparently to be closer to her father, who is currently battling cancer.
The couple’s return to the UK was an uneven process, starting with enrolling their children in a posh $35,000-a-year prep school, only to pull Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, out of school after two days due to a security risk.
It now appears they will not be spending Christmas with the royal family this year as tensions between the Sussexes and Harry’s loved ones continue.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to join Charles, William and the rest of the royal family for their traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, a source exclusively told Page Six.
The decision comes amid the ongoing rift between Harry and his family, with the couple apparently deciding to avoid any potentially uncomfortable encounters over the holidays.
The news comes just days after royal experts dismissed reports that Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, were considering apologizing to William and his wife, Kate Middleton, in hopes of ending their years-long feud.
