Ravens sign new QB contract, announce Week 9 starter after injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley
The Baltimore Ravens have signed quarterback Kedon Slovis to their team, the team announced Tuesday.
The 25-year-old quarterback had already been signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad.
In addition to signing Slovis, the Ravens announced that rookie Joe Fagnano will start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars:
Slovis began his professional career with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. Over the next few years, the BYU product bounced around the league for brief coaching stints with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals before landing with the Packers this offseason.
Slovis remains essentially an unknown on the field. He only took five snaps in the regular season, all with the Arizona Cardinals during the 2025 season. Still, he gives Baltimore some much-needed relief at quarterback after a nightmare game Sunday left them with three quarterbacks injured.
MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson injured his thumb during Baltimore’s offensive opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Ravens were forced to rely on emergency third baseman Fagnano after backup quarterback Tyler Huntley also injured his toe in the 36-10 loss.
The Ravens had high hopes for the 2026 season, but their playoff aspirations took a major hit. After a promising start to the season, Baltimore lost three straight games to fall to a 4-4 record and last place in the AFC North.
